Chalk it up! The Ping-Pong trend arrives in style

Last night Yannick and I headed to Chalk Ping Pong and Billiards Lounge for their grand opening, and it was packed! Not so crowded that you couldn't get a table for comp ping-pong or Absolut cocktails, but full of hipsters ready to have fun. The new venue is a big place right on Washington Avenue where the Hustler superstore stood for a hot minute. Now it's got a better crowd, billiards and all manner of games which are peddled for $15 an hour. $50 monthly memberships available for heavy users. And judging by the fervor with which table tennis hit New York last year, there might be quite a few of those.
